Jennifer Mack, Instructor
Jennifer Mack is currently a member of Christopher Watson Dance Company and also works as a freelance dancer and choreographer. She graduated (Magma Cum Laude) with a B.A. in Dance Performance and a B.S. in Arts Management & International Business from UW-Stevens Point. She originally trained at Rochester Ballet School and Janet Lang Dance Studio of Rochester, MN and spent summers at: Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Alvin Ailey, the Cunningham School, Steps and Broadway Dance Center. Her past professional performing career includes: 6 seasons with Continental Ballet and 5 seasons with St. Paul City Ballet/St. Paul Ballet and Alternative Motion Project in several notable Principal and Soloist roles. She also performed and toured as a guest artist all over the world with: Dance & Other Behaviors, Debra Jinza-Thayer's Movement Architecture, Curio Dance, Eclectic Edge Ensemble, James Sewell Ballet, Jagged Edges Ensemble, Kari Jensen's Moving Arts Ensemble, Kim Robbards Dance Company, Offleash Area, Rainy Day Cabaret, Ray Terrill & Dancers, Rosy Simas Dance Project, Spandrel, Szeged National Ballet, Vox Medusa Dance Company and other numerous independent choreographers including commercial work for Aveda, Best Buy, Cost Cutters, and Sherwin Williams Paint. Her choreography, on both professionals and students, including the competition dance scene, have been performed in Ireland, Hungary, MN, NYC, and WI and received several notable awards, grants, show invites and selections. As an Instructor, she has taught at numerous schools through out the US and abroad for 19 years! Many of her students have gone on to top training schools, dance high schools/performing arts schools, colleges, and companies. Other students have also gone on to performing in cruise lines, theme parks and broadway shows as well; and more as leading doctors, lawyers, nurses, scientists, galore! She prides herself on bringing out the best dancer and artist in each individual student while also making them a well rounded, grounded dancer and person in whatever they choose to chase and succeed at for a dream. She regularly attends classes, workshops, auditions, teacher trainings and certifications to stay on top of the dance world. Previously, she also has served as a judge for Midwest Starz Dance Competition for several years both at regional and national levels. She resides in North Minneapolis, MN with life partner, Matt Marka and their newest addition, Zuzu, who at age 2 is inspiring new work and giving her more insight and inspiration into the younger mover!
