Lauren Baker, Instructor

Lauren Baker hails from St. Louis Park, Minnesota where she began her love affair with the arts at the young age of three years old. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Minor in Mass Communications from the University of Minnesota where she had the opportunity to study under Toni Pierce Sands, Joanie Smith, Erin Thompson, Ananya Chatterjea and Carl Flink. While at the U of M, she performed in works by José Limón, Joe Chvala, Max Pollak, Mathew Janczewski and Shapiro & Smith Dance. In 2009, Lauren had the privilege of performing José Limón’s masterwork Missa Brevis with the Limón Dance Company at the Northrop Theater. Currently, Lauren dances for two Minneapolis-based dance companies, Black Label Movement and Shapiro & Smith Dance.
