9-13-2021 Competition and Performing Line Updates!

We are SO excited to be officially starting our 2021-22 season TODAY!
There is a lot of info in this update, so please take the time to read it thoroughly. Also, save all of these emails to refer back to. We will also post them on the website.
Performing Line Competitions- Just to clarify, Junior line will do the Turn it Up and Triple S competitions. Senior Line will do Turn it Up, Triple S, and Starz.
Innovate Dance Event - 1/28-30/2022- All of our competition and performing line students (except Mini Team) will participate in the Innovate Dance Event. The event includes performing routines for feedback, dance classes, an educational class, and community service project. Our DF students will participate on SUNDAY, 1/30. There is an optional Friday night 1/28 option for solos/duets/trios which includes performing for feedback from a panel of adjudicators, and 2 dance classes. Cost is $100 for Friday night for one routine, add $25 for each additional routine. Please sign up HERE if you are interested. Billing for this will be on 12/15. Cost for 1/30 group day has already been figured into your Balanced Billing fees.

Bands - If you purchased bands from Gabriela Banuet, please always have them in your dance bag. We might use them sometimes for jazz tech classes.
NUVO dance convention - 2/25-27. Last chance to sign up for the NUVO dance convention and optional solo/duet competition. You MUST do the convention to compete. Entries are limited to 1 solo (we have 5 spots left), and duets are unlimited. Sign up HERE. Due Wed. 9/15.
Zoom- We will have Zoom available for classes if a student has Covid or is in quarantine. We will have it set up by 10/1. Parents need to contact the studio if you need us to set up Zoom, we will not automatically have it on in each room.
Banuet Monthly classes - We have a few spots left for the 9/25 Banuet master class. Cost is $70 for 2 hours. Sign up HERE
October class - 10/30 2:30-4:30 and 4:30-6:30
November class- 11/13 - 10-noon, noon-2:00
December class - 12/11 -10-noon, noon-2:00
January class-1/15 10-noon, noon-2:00

Act 1 Dance Competition - We will be participating in the Act 1 Dance Competition as an option for solos/duets/trios this year. It's a great competition and we miss going to it! The dates worked out to participate in 2022. We would like to possibly add the option of bringing our small groups there, but only if everyone is on board. The cost is $55/dancer/group. I have put together a google form HERE for you to fill out. Please fill this out and let me know if you are a yes or no. There is no pressure and I will not share the feedback.
Garage sale-Remember we have some cute items on the counter in the lobby. Donate to our Poland dance trip for 2022. We will leave these items out during the first 2 weeks of classes.
Used shoes - we will have our used shoes in the back in bins for you to look through if you need a different size before we pick out our shoe colors.
Hip Hop shoes- Our teachers will pick out shoes for hip hop classes by 10/15. For now, wear comfortable gym shoes or hip hop boots to class. Do not follow the general DF info that was sent out for hip hop shoes, that is only for recreational classes.
Production reveal- 9/19 - We are so excited to reveal our production theme at our first practice on 9/19!!! Everyone is invited, including our Petite Team and Mini's! We will do choreography for the entire practice from 5-8. (no tech portion on this day) We can't wait!
Twin Cities Tap Festival 10/21-24 - Consider sending your dancer to some classes during the TC Tap Festival! It's an AWESOME experience. You can register for one class, or take several.
